Boğaziçi History Graduate Conference in Memory of Yavuz Selim Karakışla

We are delighted to announce that the “Boğaziçi History Graduate Conference in Memory of Yavuz Selim Karakışla” will take place on May 15-16 at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey.
This conference seeks to foster an environment where graduate students can engage with one another's research, reflect on their experiences as emerging historians, and share what it means and how it feels to produce historical work in the present moment. We hope to collectively cultivate a spirit of solidarity and encourage the formation of enduring scholarly and intellectual collaborations.

Within this direction, we are sharing with great excitement our workshop with Özge Ertem.

The conference will be held in English and Turkish in a hybrid format.

SUBMISSION AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
We primarily welcome submissions from history graduate students at any stage of their studies, as well as recent graduates. However, we also encourage interdisciplinary approaches and invite students from other disciplines to submit their research.
Applicants should submit a single PDF document titled 'Lastname_Title' that includes a 350-word proposal and a Curriculum Vitae. Submissions should be sent to bounhistorygraduateconference@gmail.com by April 14, 2025.
